Peachey Birthday Card

I made this card for my granddaughter Lairen who will turning 21 on the 26th.  It’s hard to believe that all of my grandchildren are all grown up.  Our youngest granddaughter will turn nineteen next month.  Where has the time gone!  I decided to use an OLD Tilda stamp because I just couldn’t come up with anything else.  I suppose no one else has anything like that happen to them where you have a mental block and your creative juices just won’t flow.

P1020348

I had colored this image a long time ago and it shows…..my coloring has improved since I did this one at least I hope it has.

P1020349

Well that’s about all I have this time.  I have some other things to share but it will have to wait since the good old laptop will be going off the laptop doctor for a few days.

Thanks for stopping by, have wonderful week and hope to see you again soon.

For My Brother

Well it’s time for a guy card and I always struggle with them.   So I start with what to do I can’t do the same thing over again…so now what.  I went to my SU stamps and started going through them and this is what I came up with…not very original but Oh well I got one made.

P1020324

As you can see I went with blue since that seems to be the color for boys.  I decided to use some white, green and a design paper and this is what I came up with.

P1020325

Just another view.   Most guys like cars and some even like old cars.

Thanks for stopping by always love hearing from you.  Your week-end will soon be here may you have a blessed one.

A Birthday Wish

Wanted to share with you my latest card.   Seems like the only time I can find the time to make a card is when someone’s special occasion is coming up.  This card is for my sister-in-law who is also a quilter so I’m sure she will like it…..at least I hope so.

P1020320

I just love this adorable Tilda image.   The striped background paper is from a NitWit collection but right now I couldn’t tell you which one.  I colored the image with my copic’s .  I then decided to cut her out to give the card some more dimension I then used some of my newer dies and cut out the white and  plum card stock.  When I got to the sentiment I was thrilled to discover that the smaller die worked perfect for the stamped sentiment.

P1020321

Here’s another view…..

P1020322

There is a homemade flower that I made quite some time ago using a Cheery Lynn flower die which I placed some bling in the  middle.  I have  a lot of new flower dies but haven’t had the time to really play with them.  I hope to use then on some of the cards I make in the future.

Now for the inside…..I must say my head was not in perfect working order the day I made this card.  After the card was all done I realized I really didn’t go the extra mile in decorating the inside.

P1020323

Oh well I guess it will have to do.  Found this sentiment in some older clear stamps I have and decided it was the perfect one.

Now I will share a quilt I made for my other sister-in-law.   I really made two and let her choose which one she wanted and brought the other one home.

P1020279

The pattern was a simple one but the colors brought it to life I think.  Now to figure out who will get this one.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by always love hearing from you.

Two Guy Cards

I’ve been putting off posting one of these cards but today decided what the heck I’ll just post them both.  I always struggle with guy cards since they really don’t appreciate all the flowers and bows etc.   So here goes..the first one I made for my grandson-in-law, he’s been going to school to get a degree so he can work for the Forest Service and he’s and avid hunter.

P1020293

I cut the log cabin, trees and mountain with my Silhouette…OH I also cut out the happy birthday.  I used my Copics to color Walter the Moose which I think he is so adorable.

P1020294

A quick view of the inside.

Now for card number two.  This one was just sent off in the mail to our grandson who is turning 20 on the 6th.   His folks just got him a new Redbone Hound puppy.

P1020317

I used some of my dies to cut out the trees, clouds and grass.  Then I went in search for a tool I’d bought many years ago and hadn’t used in about the same length of time.   Once I found it I cut out of two different colors of green giving the effect (I hope) of rolling country side.  I then ran it through to give it a crinkle look.   Now for the dog….while looking on the Silhouette Store I found this wonderful shape of a hound dog and of course I had to buy it and then cut it out.  I used some of my Prisma pencils to shade it a little.

P1020319

A closer look at Edwin…..really Brandon and his dog Annie.

There you have it my two guys cards that I always stew over.

Now I thought I’d share one of my quilts that I’ve made for myself and plan on using it on our bed.  I plan to enter it a a quilt show this summer.

P1020274

It’s called Amish with a Twist II.

Thanks for stopping buy in your busy schedule.  Always love hearing from you as it brightens my day and puts a smile on my face.  Blessings to you all.

Happy Birthday to my Boss

The lady that owns the quilt shop that I work in part-time celebrated her birthday on the 19th.  A friend and I decided to make her some gifts since she doesn’t have time to make herself anything.   I made her this card and two little gadget bags that can be used for a multiple of things.

P1020307

What better image to use but one that has her sewing up a storm.  I just love this Tilda and so did she.

P1020308

Here is a picture of just the bags…..the vinyl front makes it easy to see what goodies you might have in them.

P1020304

Thought I’d share a couple of pictures of some other purses and tote bags I’ve made.

P1020300

This is like the one I made for Janie only bigger…..I carry much to much in my purse.  This next one is called The Mini Professional Tote and I carried it when we went to Florida to visit family.  I has a place in the middle to put your tablet….I have an iPad 2 and it fits perfectly.

P1020296

Well that’s it for now.  I will share some of the quilts I’ve made at a later date.

Hope you are having a marvelous week-end.  It’s snowing here….ugh.

Best Friends Birthday

I haven’t posted anything for several months but hope to do better.  I made a card for a grandson-in-law and will post it later.  This card I made for a very  special friend that winters in Arizona and it makes for a long winter with her so far away.  After the winter we’ve had I can’t say I blame her.
P1020290
I must admit that I’m a sucker for new craft things so it makes it easy for Janie to get me involved in new adventures.  We are into making paper flowers and I’m sure we will both be posting some in the future once we get it sort of mastered.  Any way let me get back to the point I wanted to make…..the  point is she likes Lady Bugs so as you can see there are two on this card.  One is part of the Tilda image and the other is a stamp I had and added it to the sentiment.

P1020291
P1020292
A closer look.   Once I finished the card I needed something to go with it and this is what I came up with.
P1020280
I make a lot of my purses and she always comments on them so decided she needed one.  Think it goes with the card.   She loves flowers and as you can see I had to put a Lady Bug button on a leaf.
P1020287

Thanks for stopping by it means  a lot to me. May your week-end be a blessed one.

Jodi’s Birthday

Yes, I kept my promise not to make another step card!  This card is for our oldest daughter’s birthday.  I had a hard time deciding what image I should use and finally picked this cute Tilda.   Jodi is our holiday baby since she was born on Veterans Day and because of that everyone celebrates her birthday across our nation…….well really not but it sounded good.

P1020218

Jodi like bright colors and this royal blue just fit the bill.

          P1020219

A close up view.

         P1020220

Some of the flowers I used.

      P1020218

One last look.

Thanks for stopping by and may your week be a glorious one.  Always love hearing from you.

Another Thank You!

At the embroidery retreat I attended one of my co-workers cooked the food and served it…….I must say everything was delicious.  Therefore I decided to make her a card to show her how much we appreciated everything she did.

P1020208

Off to check out all my stamps and this is what I came up with.   Marilyn likes bright colors so I thought these would be perfect.

P1020214

What better image to use than this cute little chef Tilda.

         P1020213

A close up of some of the flowers.

P1020212

One last picture of the card.   Okay I promise the next card won’t be a step card…..at least I don’t think it will be!

Thanks for stopping by always love hearing from you.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Yes, it’s me again and you will see me quite often during the month of November since I have 6 birthdays that I have to make cards for.  Our granddaughter Sarah is the first one that I want to share with you.

P1020203

I had so much fun making my last card using my new Cheery Lynn die that I had to make another one.  Sarah lives in Colorado so better to use but a nice log, trees and of course some deer.  She is an artist and works in an art gallery so I always try to create something different for her.

               P1020205

Thought I’d give a close up view of this adorable Tilda.

        P1020206

For the sentiment I used a Spellbinder…Deckled Rectangle, thought it gave it a woodsy look.

        P1020207

One last look before I put it in the mail.

Thanks for stopping by always love hearing from you.

Thank You!

I just finished going to an embroidery retreat that the owner of our quilt shop put on, I really learned a lot.   I know how much time she put into getting everything put together so I made this little card to tell thank you.

P1020199

I used the new Cheery Lynn die to make this step card and boy is that ever nice.  My good friend Janie told me about it and I’m so glad she did!

P1020200

This a side angle of the card, the purple looks blue however it’s really purple.

P1020201

Here’s a picture of the flowers, I didn’t go all out on the flowers but I did want to use these violets on the card.  Claudia’s little granddaughter’s name is Violet so I knew she’d like them.

P1020202

Just a close up of this adorable Tilda image.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, love hearing from you.  Hope you have a wonderful week.
