Brandon’s Card

Well here I am again and this time it’s card for my grandson who is turning 18.  I really have a hard time doing guy cards as you can’t get all frilly and use lots of flowers and things.   So this is my answer for a grandson that likes to hunt.    I used the SU moose stamp and then put my stamp-a-ma-jig to work by adding the cattails on either side.   Then I decided to add a sky and clouds so that meant I needed to mask the moose, once that was done out came the stipple brush and Bashful Blue SU ink pad.  Couldn’t put a pretty bow on it so got out the trusty raffia

As you can see it’s not a real exciting card but what else can you do for and 18 year old boy.

With this close up of the moose you can tell there really isn’t a whole lot you can do with it either.

Thought I’d share my latest quilt with you since it has a moose on it along with some other animals.  When I bought the fabric there wasn’t a pattern that went with it so this is my own design.

In this picture of the moose you can even see some of quilting that’s on it which are large pine cones.
This will be my last post for a while as I will be busy making a Memory Book for this same grandson who will graduating from high school.
To top all this off we are preparing to get things ready for the arrival of a litter of Australian Shepherd pups the middle of April.  Once they arrive I will be totally busy for weeks to come until we find wonderful homes for them.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.  May you have a blessed week and please stop by again.

A Tote for Janie

I wanted to share this tote that I made for my very good friend Janie.  Ever since she saw the bags that Paula made she has wanted a "Tilda Bag".   So I decided to experiment to see if I  could make a "Tilda Bag" (Tote) and it seemed to work.  Once I had the image on the right kind of fabric I was off and running with the idea.   The tote or bag is one I've made quite a few times but decided to make the front pocket different by using the Tilda image instead.

I told Janie I had something for her but she didn't know what it was.  I work part-time at our local quilt
shop so when I knew Janie would be in town I had her stop by the shop and surprised her with the tote.   Some her favorite colors are pinks and greens so as you can see I used them in the bag as well as on the Tilda image.   She is planning a trip to New Mexico to see her granddaughter and meet her great grandson when he makes his appearance in this world.  I believe she plans on using the tote on her trip.

Guess now I need to think about making myself one.   Paula also made some darling zipper pulls using Shrinky Dink so I guess the next thing is to give that a try but I'm not sure how that might turn out.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to look at my new blog. May you have a blessed day and stop by again.

You Are A Winner

This cutie was made for one of my granddaughters  for her birthday.  She is an artist and doing really well which makes her a winner in any ones book especially mine.

A lot of you seemed to enjoy the quilt on my previous post so thought I’d share another one that has the same colors as this card.
