1st November Birthday

Well here I am and I’m  so early, maybe I will get all the other cards I have to make in November done in time!

This one is for one of my granddaughter’s that live in Colorado and loves to ski.

P1020394

Sarah was born in Florida and hates the hot weather, she’s always looking forward to winter when the snow flies and it’s time to go skiing.  I put her in bright pink so she couldn’t get lost in all the snow.

P1020396

Thought I’d give you one more look.  Not real happy with the poinsettia’s but then when you don’t take the time to make them what can I expect.  I’d thought about taking them off but decided against it.   I sprayed some Glimmer Mist on them, some got on the image so her pants are a little splotchy……maybe people will think it’s snowing.

Well that’s it folks thanks for stopping by.  Hope your week is full of blessings.

Another Birthday Card

Well here I am again and this time I had to hurry.   Our granddaughter’s birthday is the 10th but her mother decided to fix her a dinner on the 8th since she would working and couldn’t  come on Wednesday.  Thinking I had a couple of days simply flew out the window so don’t look too closely at the coloring oh just the whole card.
This granddaughter is a horse lover and that’s putting it mildly so when I saw this Tilda stamp with the I believe it’s called Angel Horse I knew I had to use it on her card.  So here goes……..
P1020382
Megin is our dark haired beauty and coloring dark hair is a real challenge for me but I try any way.  I used some Spellbinder dies for a couple of the cuts, found a piece of fence so put that on the one side.  Now for the flowers she loves Sunflowers so thought this yellow flower would do,  found a flower I had made and added greenery and a couple of other flowers and called it done.
P1020384
A closer look if you really need to check the coloring…
P1020385
One last look…..oh decided to use some raffia since it kind of looks like hay instead of regular ribbon bow.
Well that’s it folks, thanks for stopping by it’s always a pleasure to hear from you.

This card is for my oldest granddaughter who is now practicing law, needless to say we are so proud of her.

P1020369

Don’t ask my why I picked these colors all I can say is I just did.   I have always loved this window stamp and little Miss Tilda fits in there perfectly.

P1020375

For some reason she’s a little blurry…..sorry for that.

P1020372

Last look!   Now I’m going to share a picture of my latest projects.

P1020380

I took this class and made this duffle bag……yes it’s pretty big.

P1020377

I then went home and made this mini duffle bag…..think it will be perfect to put my knitting in.

P1020381

This will kind of give you an idea of different sizes.

A Birthday Wish for Wendy

It’s me again and this time I am late with a birthday card, just to much going on in my life.  I have two more to make in September so I’d better get a move on it.

Now for this card I went looking for a Tilda and came up with an old but I think she’s a cutie.  Used an old Spellbinder die for the border around her.  I then went to my Cameo and started to play a little and I mean a little as I still have soooo much to learn.  This is what I came up with.  Wendy is our daughter-in-law and a very special member of our family.

P1020363

I love these colors and just had to use them in this card.  Wendy would probably like it if it were in yellow…..oh well.

P1020364

A closer look……

P1020365

Last look.

P1020366

I made her a set of place mats and this is what they look like, they will be on their way tomorrow.  As you can see I have yellow in them.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and may you have a glorious week.

Going Fishing

Yes it’s me again!  This card is for my youngest daughter who’s the mother of my youngest granddaughter…go figure.  When I saw this adorable Tilda image I knew I had to get her to make this card.  My daughter and her husband have purchased two fishing Kayak’s and she just caught her first trout in the river.

P1020357

I used the new tall grass die I got a long with my old grass die….like effect it gives.

P1020358A closer look.

P1020360

It’s hard to see but I do have her walking on a path as she is heading for the river…..haha.

P1020362

One last look.

Peachey Birthday Card

I made this card for my granddaughter Lairen who will turning 21 on the 26th.  It’s hard to believe that all of my grandchildren are all grown up.  Our youngest granddaughter will turn nineteen next month.  Where has the time gone!  I decided to use an OLD Tilda stamp because I just couldn’t come up with anything else.  I suppose no one else has anything like that happen to them where you have a mental block and your creative juices just won’t flow.

P1020348

I had colored this image a long time ago and it shows…..my coloring has improved since I did this one at least I hope it has.

P1020349

Well that’s about all I have this time.  I have some other things to share but it will have to wait since the good old laptop will be going off the laptop doctor for a few days.

Thanks for stopping by, have wonderful week and hope to see you again soon.

For My Brother

Well it’s time for a guy card and I always struggle with them.   So I start with what to do I can’t do the same thing over again…so now what.  I went to my SU stamps and started going through them and this is what I came up with…not very original but Oh well I got one made.

P1020324

As you can see I went with blue since that seems to be the color for boys.  I decided to use some white, green and a design paper and this is what I came up with.

P1020325

Just another view.   Most guys like cars and some even like old cars.

Thanks for stopping by always love hearing from you.  Your week-end will soon be here may you have a blessed one.

A Birthday Wish

Wanted to share with you my latest card.   Seems like the only time I can find the time to make a card is when someone’s special occasion is coming up.  This card is for my sister-in-law who is also a quilter so I’m sure she will like it…..at least I hope so.

P1020320

I just love this adorable Tilda image.   The striped background paper is from a NitWit collection but right now I couldn’t tell you which one.  I colored the image with my copic’s .  I then decided to cut her out to give the card some more dimension I then used some of my newer dies and cut out the white and  plum card stock.  When I got to the sentiment I was thrilled to discover that the smaller die worked perfect for the stamped sentiment.

P1020321

Here’s another view…..

P1020322

There is a homemade flower that I made quite some time ago using a Cheery Lynn flower die which I placed some bling in the  middle.  I have  a lot of new flower dies but haven’t had the time to really play with them.  I hope to use then on some of the cards I make in the future.

Now for the inside…..I must say my head was not in perfect working order the day I made this card.  After the card was all done I realized I really didn’t go the extra mile in decorating the inside.

P1020323

Oh well I guess it will have to do.  Found this sentiment in some older clear stamps I have and decided it was the perfect one.

Now I will share a quilt I made for my other sister-in-law.   I really made two and let her choose which one she wanted and brought the other one home.

P1020279

The pattern was a simple one but the colors brought it to life I think.  Now to figure out who will get this one.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by always love hearing from you.

Two Guy Cards

I’ve been putting off posting one of these cards but today decided what the heck I’ll just post them both.  I always struggle with guy cards since they really don’t appreciate all the flowers and bows etc.   So here goes..the first one I made for my grandson-in-law, he’s been going to school to get a degree so he can work for the Forest Service and he’s and avid hunter.

P1020293

I cut the log cabin, trees and mountain with my Silhouette…OH I also cut out the happy birthday.  I used my Copics to color Walter the Moose which I think he is so adorable.

P1020294

A quick view of the inside.

Now for card number two.  This one was just sent off in the mail to our grandson who is turning 20 on the 6th.   His folks just got him a new Redbone Hound puppy.

P1020317

I used some of my dies to cut out the trees, clouds and grass.  Then I went in search for a tool I’d bought many years ago and hadn’t used in about the same length of time.   Once I found it I cut out of two different colors of green giving the effect (I hope) of rolling country side.  I then ran it through to give it a crinkle look.   Now for the dog….while looking on the Silhouette Store I found this wonderful shape of a hound dog and of course I had to buy it and then cut it out.  I used some of my Prisma pencils to shade it a little.

P1020319

A closer look at Edwin…..really Brandon and his dog Annie.

There you have it my two guys cards that I always stew over.

Now I thought I’d share one of my quilts that I’ve made for myself and plan on using it on our bed.  I plan to enter it a a quilt show this summer.

P1020274

It’s called Amish with a Twist II.

Thanks for stopping buy in your busy schedule.  Always love hearing from you as it brightens my day and puts a smile on my face.  Blessings to you all.

Happy Birthday to my Boss

The lady that owns the quilt shop that I work in part-time celebrated her birthday on the 19th.  A friend and I decided to make her some gifts since she doesn’t have time to make herself anything.   I made her this card and two little gadget bags that can be used for a multiple of things.

P1020307

What better image to use but one that has her sewing up a storm.  I just love this Tilda and so did she.

P1020308

Here is a picture of just the bags…..the vinyl front makes it easy to see what goodies you might have in them.

P1020304

Thought I’d share a couple of pictures of some other purses and tote bags I’ve made.

P1020300

This is like the one I made for Janie only bigger…..I carry much to much in my purse.  This next one is called The Mini Professional Tote and I carried it when we went to Florida to visit family.  I has a place in the middle to put your tablet….I have an iPad 2 and it fits perfectly.

P1020296

Well that’s it for now.  I will share some of the quilts I’ve made at a later date.

Hope you are having a marvelous week-end.  It’s snowing here….ugh.
