Christmas Card and Candles

Now I don’t want anyone to faint because I’m putting a post on.  I know it’s been awhile since I was on here but now I’m back at least right  now.
I saw a post with a beautiful candle on it so right then I knew I had to learn how to do this craft.   Now it was time to check things out on YouTube, what an amazing site you can find most anything there.

                             P1000992
                             P1000988
                             P1000991
Yes, I know I got a little carried away but it was so much fun.  I also made six small candles.  I have already given five of the big candles away and everyone seemed to love them.
Now my next project was to make our Christmas cards…..way too many will need to cut things down a bit next year.
          P1000994
I tried to make it simple and yet have an elegant look as well.   I decided I needed to dress it up a bit so I glued on some red sequins however the glue I used didn’t hold so I had to re-glue some of them.  Learned my lesson real quick!
Well, that’s about it except for wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Glad you stopped by and hope to see you again!

Happy Autumn

When I was looking at a friends blog I saw this adorable card.   The card was so cute that I wanted to make one that would be similar.  If you take a look at Paula’s blog you will see all of her amazing cards.   The Tilda image that she used was one I didn’t have (had the mini) so off the computer I went in search of Scarecrow Tilda.
P1000959
Isn’t she adorable and to think I really didn’t care for her when she first came out – silly me.   I’m not in to Halloween but I do love autumn and all the beautiful colors.
P1000962
I used several different punches for the leaves then got out my stylist and went to work making the veins in each leaf.  I then went to my Marianne dies and found these acorns.  Once they were cut out I used my Copic markers and colored the tops darker.
P1000963
I had just bought this new Cheery Lynn die and just had to use it.  It cuts out beautiful but on the brown paper it just didn’t show up like I wanted it to.  I decided to cut it out again, then I used the cut outs and glued them in the open spaces (couldn’t find the first ones I cut out).  Once that was done I was happy with the look.
P1000958
This picture doesn’t show up very good, just couldn’t get the light right.   I was in search of some fall paper and couldn’t find any in the papers I had so I went to Nitwit papers and found this paper.  I then added some larger leaves from Marianne dies to finish it off.   I then realize I didn’t have any kind of sentiment, when I found this little Happy Autumn one I stamped it and tucked it behind the Tilda image.   Now it’s finished.
I doesn’t compare to Paula’s but I’m happy with it.
Thanks for stopping by I don’t have many followers so the few comments I get are very precious to me.   Hope the rest of your weekend is great.

Sweet Dreams

I got a phone call the other day inviting me to a baby shower and my first thought was what a perfect time to use Baby Tilda.  Once I had decided you use this stamp it was time to try and come up with a design.   The baby girl was about 4 weeks old which made it easy to go pink.
     P1000949
When I got to the shower this precious little baby girl was there and I got to hold her.  She was so dainty with the cutest turned up nose.  Here’s a close up of the WOC flowers I used on the card.
       P1000950
Now it was time to figure out what to put inside the card.  Wanted to say something a little different and make a statement at the same time.  So this is what I ended up using.
      P1000951
I just happened to have a baby afghan that I had made that was pink, green and white so everything went together just great.
May you have a blessed week and thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by my blog.  Hope to see you again.

Ahoy!

This card was made for my oldest granddaughter.  Her husband will graduate next year as a dentist for the Navy so I just couldn’t resist using this adorable Tilda.    My granddaughter will graduate next year also as a attorney so they both have their careers all lined up.
P1000933My friend Janie came by one day and brought this wonderful die and I can’t remember for the life of me what die company it was, but isn’t it pretty against the dark blue.  She also gave me this stand to put my cards on when I take pictures of them.  She’s such a great friend!
               P1000935
Here’s a close up of Tilda Offshore, just love her and she was just perfect for this card.
                          P1000936
Just had to use red, white an blue flowers on this card to finish it off.
Thank you for stopping by my blog, hope you enjoyed your visit.

Happy Birthday!

I thought I would get this posted before I was off to surgery but for some reason didn’t make it so here I am.   I’m still on some high powered medicine so if what I write doesn’t make any sense just have a good laugh!
I made this card for my daughter on her birthday and you can probably guess she’s a tennis player.

P1000924
When designing this card I decided to use the colors she wears when playing in tournaments.  She likes purple and orange and her shoes are neon green and white so here you have it.
I embossed the background with a Happy Birthday embossing folder to give it a different look.

P1000927
I then pulled out all my drawers of flowers and went to work picking out the right ones I thought would look good on this card.
P1000928
I knew the purple and lavender flowers wouldn’t be a problem but wasn’t sure about the orange till the drawers came out.  Once the flowers were in place I knew I had to add a purple bow to make it complete.
Now it’s time to do something with the inside.

P1000925
So here you have it and I’m happy to say she really liked it (her birthday was yesterday).
P1000929
Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a look.  May the rest of your week be great and with the week-end approaching it’s even better.

Happy 50th Birthday

Well, here I am again.   July, August and September are busy card making months for me.   This card was made for my son’s birthday, OMW if he’s that old what does that make me!
P1000914
As you can see I’ve used three of the new Magnolia stamps, just couldn’t resist these for a card for my son.   He is truly an outdoors person so these fit the bill.

P1000917
This is a close up of Edwin with gray hair…..at 50 he should have gray hair right.
P1000916
Just had to give you a close up of this adorable Moose.
P1000918
One more close up.   The clouds are a Memory Box die…..really like these clouds.
P1000919
Well there you have it…..now I need to put on my thinking cap as I have a daughter whose birthday is coming up soon.

Here is a quilt that I made for our son, just got sent off in the mail.  As you will be able to see it's full of wildlife.

Thanks for taking the time to stop my blog.  Hope you are having a wonderful week-end.

Happy Anniversary 50 +1

Here is a card I made for my husband on our anniversary tomorrow.  I thought the couple was a cute image and it really fit the occasion.
P1000897
The paper I used was from the Nitwit collection, and I love this rock path background stamp.

P1000898
As you can see both have silver hair….what else would expect being married 51 years.
P1000910
Thought I’d share my latest quilt which is an Irish Chain and this one will be on our bed instead of folded up somewhere.   This was my first attempt at an Irish Chain and I thought it turned out really well.
Thanks for stopping by and may you have a blessed week!

Fun in the Sun

This is a card I just finished for my granddaughter’s birthday that’s coming up the end of the month.  She and her mother went with us last year to Florida (we live in Montana) in March for our oldest granddaughter’s wedding.   This was her first taste of Florida and she thought Florida was the berries (if she only knew).   Once the Summer Memories came out I knew I had to use one of them for Sydnee’s card.
P1000888
Once I had Flip-flop Tilda and the background stamp I knew I needed a palm tree so then the search began.   When I found the Hawaii Palm Tree I was thrilled so off to the shopping cart it went, once it was ordered it was shipped to me in record time.   Now I needed a shell or starfish or something to add to the card.   So out came Edwin in Miami, I printed the starfish, colored it and cut it out and it was perfect.
P1000889
Isn’t she a doll!   My beautiful granddaughter loves flip flops and she has as much hair as this little Tilda.
P1000892
Here’s a view of this wonderful palm tree, I did have to cut down the sand  base to fit the card but that was to only thing I had to do.
P1000893
Last but not least here is the bottom of the card.   I used some gauze to look like nets and here is where you can see the star fish.   I popped Tilda, the palm tree and the star fish to give it more dimension.

I had more fun making this card so I hope you enjoy it also, thanks for stopping by.   Hope this is a great week for everyone.

Your Wedding Day

This card was for a sweet friend and her husband on their wedding day.  What a joy to see what God can do in bringing two people together.   She took care of her parents, and he lost his wife about six years ago.    Her husband is the pastor in a small town church, she had devoted her life to serving the Lord and sings like and angel.   This was truly a match made in heaven.
P1000855
Her colors were purple (right up my alley), fuchsia and white so decided to use those same colors in their card.
P1000856
Here is a closer look at the bride and groom.
P1000857

Most of the flowers were from WOC but I did get one a Michael's in the wedding department.
P1000858
I found this sentiment after going through some of my SU collections
.
P1000859
This is the sentiment I placed inside and it says it all.  It's a Fiskar sentiment.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog.  May your week be filled with blessings.

Get Well Wish

My good friend Janie just had some back surgery not long ago so decided to make her a card with hopes that it would brighten her day.  I think it worked.   Another friend Patti and I also took a meal over to her to give her husband a break on cooking dinner every night.
P1000874
I had this adorable Doctor Edwin then found Nurse Tilda among my minis so put them together to make the perfect pair. I used Copic markers to color them both.  I used the spellbinder labels 18 to put the two on.  Behind them I put some gauze (what better thing to use with the medical pair).  The flowers are from WOC, then some bling to the flowers.   The sentiment is one I found among some of my SU stamps.  I decided to try my hand at using the Pearl Pens and the pearls didn’t turn out too bad.  Then to finish it up I added bow made out of the wonderful silk ribbon.
P1000878

I used that wonderful spellbinder die again with a sentiment that says it all.   Just had to add a band-aid, you never know when you might need one.

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful week.  Hope to see again.
