A Cool Dude

Well I’m back I think.   The puppies have been moved to a kennel outside so now I’m trying to get my craft room back to normal if that’s possible.
I put this card together in a hurry and even then I’m late for my brother’s birthday and I’m sure he’ll understand due to the circumstances.
He is my only brother and even though he’s younger he’s still a cool dude in my eyes.
I keep thinking he will catch up to me but in reality I know that will never happen so I will always remain the older sister, ugh.
I’m a little rusty as I haven’t made any cards for at least six weeks.  I have had to pull things out of my brain trying to remember how to do all of this stuff on my blog.  I got out all my cheat sheets but I’m thrilled because I haven’t had to look at any of them so far.  Guess the old brain is still working which is good to know.
Since I couldn’t really get to things in my craft room I spent a lot of time in my sewing room.  I just finished and Irish Chain quilt top so now I have to put it together and get it quilted.  Once I have it finished I plan to share it with you all.  This is my first try at an Irish Chain and I think it turned out OK.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog and I hope you will visit again.  I really appreciate your comments they are very encouraging which keeps me trying to get better.

  1. Hello Ruth Ann....what a lovely card for a 65th birthday he looks a real cool dude standing there with his hands in his pockets

  2. Welcome back my friend. So great to see you back making cards again & this one is great. Love the way you've colored Edwin's hair & I'm assuming you've made him look like your little brother. Terrific job on your shading & can't wait to get up there & see those sweet puppies before they go to new homes.
    Hugs, Janie

  3. This is one wonderful birthday card and you have not skipped a beat! Looking forward to seeing your quilt!

  4. Hi Ruth Ann! Welcome back! This is a "cool" card for your brother and I know he will love this! After all, there will always be a "little boy" in a guy no matter how old they are! You haven't lost your touch at all and your coloring is beautiful! Can't wait to see the quilt you are working on! I was going to ask about Janie but I see she's still at home (crafting?)! Yay! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
